We are happy to announce two new Concepts, Figures, and Art Forms Seminars for 2016-17:

  • Adorno, convened by Henry Pickford (German) and Joseph Winters (Religious Studies)
  • The Other, convened by Toril Moi (Literature) and Corina Stan (English)

We look forward to sharing news about the seminars once the academic year begins. Updated 9/6/16: The Other Seminar has scheduled an exploratory meeting for September 13. Learn more here.

Jointly supported by the Center for Philosophy, Art, and Literature (PAL) and the FHI, the Concepts, Figures, and Art Forms seminars are a critical component of the Mellon Humanities Futures initiative. The PAL-FHI Seminars offer spaces for scholars from different disciplines to convene around topics with a strong historical dimension. Past seminars have focused on Cooperation (concepts), Kafka (figures) Melodrama, and the Contemporary Novel (art forms).
