Duke Cultural Anthropology graduate students Jay Hammond and Joella Bitter sat down with visiting scholar David Novak (UC Santa Barbara) to discuss his books Japanoise (2013) and Keywords in Sound (2015, co-edited with Matt Sakakeeny) in relation to his backgrounds in experimental music and a wider sound studies subfield.
