Duke dance students got a unique opportunity to learn from professional dancer Shayla-Vie Jenkins, who is a former dancer with Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company. Jenkins re-staged Bill T. Jones’ “Power/Full” for the Modern Dance Repertory Course, taught a Master Class, and spent time with students who wanted to know more about the life of a professional dancer.

“Power/Full” was presented on November 18 and 19, 2016 in association with the John Hope Franklin Humanities Institute at Duke University, as part of the Humanities Futures initiative. Humanities Futures is a multi-year exploration of the futures of the humanities, in the wake of the interdisciplinary developments of recent decades.
